Pumpkin Soup

This is a sweet book about a family, a friendship and a favorite soup – not too salty…just right!  With a recipe in the back of the book, Pumpkin Soup by Helen Cooper fits perfectly into this month’s theme.   Read and enjoy with your child(ren) and then make some soup, while talking together about what makes a good friend.

By the Kate Greenaway Medalist, Helen Cooper

Deep in the woods in an old white cabin, three friends make their pumpkin soup the same way every day. The Cat slices up the pumpkin, the Squirrel stirs in the water, and the Duck tips in just enough salt. But one day the Duck wants to stir instead, and then there is a horrible squabble, and he leaves the cabin in a huff. It isn’t long before the Cat and the Squirrel start to worry about him and begin a search for their friend. Rendered in pictures richly evoking autumn, Helen Cooper’s delightful story will resonate for any child who has known the difficulties that come with friendship. Included at the end is a recipe for delicious pumpkin soup.                        Amazon Review

Fireflies Presents

It’s fall, y’all! Crisp air, changing leaves, apple cider, and pumpkin pie!
Fall is a season to delight in!

We are very excited to share our latest Fireflies Presents with you,
F is for FALL!

Fireflies Presents celebrates the sense of wonder in a child’s world.  It helps to create yet another “You can do it” moment for a child – this time in their own living room.  Families are the audience.  All you have to do is to invite Grandma and Grandpa over for apple pie and a show (we’ve even provided the tickets)!

Our Fireflies Presents scripts are filled with original poems and songs, along with adorable hand-drawn illustrations that you can easily turn into puppets! It is our hope that the content of these pages will invite your family to create your very own “evening of the arts”!   We’ve kept it simple!   You don’t even have to rehearse – just print out the script and read.   The point is to create a communications event in your home.  Jocelyn and Kevin have made it easy.   I promise you – this will become a legacy memory in your home.

Here is your first Fireflies Presents. Enjoy!

I encourage you to visit our TPT site and purchase more Fireflies Presents scripts. They have been delightfully created by two dear friends who are oh so talented. It will be the best $2 investment you will have made today. Fireflies Presents – Jocelyn Bartle’s Store TPT

Ten years ago we began this tradition and believe it or not, we still have theatre nights in our homes – tickets and all!   The only difference now that the children are getting older? They are writing their own scripts!

Congratulations on creating a home that encourages a sense of wonder and fearless communicators!

Enjoy!
